Describe your creative process.
I like to speak with people about what their objectives for the project might be. I then like to have a think about some ideas around how to achieve those objectives and rough out some ideas. Quite often if a client has a clear idea of what they want but I think there is a way to achieve the objective in a different way, whilst showing the client what they asked for I will often provide another alternative to see if it resonates better for the client. Having a budget in mind also helps to narrow down what is the best approach.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Their objective for the project eg. I want to attract new customers to my cleaning business, I want a logo that shows I provide gardening services.
Their budget even if its just rough it helps to formulate what will be suitable faster.
The scope of the job - 1 logo, 1 pack design across 3 flavours, a brochure for my business with some illustrations to show my service.
What do you love most about your job?
Coming up with new ideas to solve a clients need. Collaborating on different projects with different people. Learning new things. Staring at supermarket shelves, designs online for research.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Flexibility, ability to choose who I work with and on what, to have a different day everyday and to mix up what I'm working on so its not the same brand, product or service.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am great to work with, I love collaborating with people, no question is a dumb question and I don't need a 20 page brief to understand what you are after. If I don't know how to do something I work with others to provide you with what you need.
