What inspired me to start my own business as a bridal hair and makeup artist was the desire for creative freedom and the opportunity to build deeper, more personal connections with my clients. As a bridal hair and makeup artist, the safety of my clients has always been a top priority, and that became even more important during the Covid-19 pandemic. To keep everyone safe, I implemented several key changes:
1. Enhanced Sanitation Practices:
All brushes, tools, and makeup products are thoroughly sanitized between each client using professional-grade disinfectants. I also transitioned to more single-use applicators wherever possible.
2. Health Screening:
I conducted pre-appointment health screenings to ensure that neither I nor the client had any symptoms of illness or recent exposure. If needed, appointments were rescheduled without penalty.
3. Protective Equipment:
I wore a face mask (and face shield when appropriate) during all appointments, especially when working in close proximity to the client’s face.
4. Smaller, Safer Setups:
I reduced the number of people in the getting-ready space to avoid crowding, and encouraged outdoor or well-ventilated indoor setups when possible.
5. Contactless Payment and Consultations:
Consultations were moved online when feasible, and I encouraged digital payments to minimize contact.
6. Product Hygiene:
Cream and liquid products were never applied directly from the container—instead, I used a clean palette and spatula for each client to prevent cross-contamination.

These measures not only helped keep clients safe during the height of the pandemic but also raised the overall hygiene standards of my service, which many clients continue to appreciate today.
