What do you love most about your job?
The construction game can be confusing for most home owners, and it's often difficult to know where to start, or to get the right team around you. I love meeting the home owners; meeting the architects; and working with the builders to solve the issues and to achieve positive outcomes for all. There's no better job satisfaction than seeing home owners move into their new or renovated property and knowing they're happy with the results.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've worked for small firms; I've worked for medium-sized firms; and I was an owner and part of a leadership group that grew an engineering consulting practice from 15 people up to 85! As things got bigger, it became harder to maintain the personal service and rapport with clients that I always enjoyed. I elected to start my own business so I could spend more time at the coal face and work directly for architects and home owners.

Very few structural engineers choose to specialise in houses and domestic structures. I've been doing it for 29 years and have won numerous awards and accolades along the way.
