We had our rehearsal dinner at the Red Door! Their food was amazing. The chicken was amazing. I didn't have any of the brisket but everyone raved about it. My mom has a severe dairy allergy and is usually stuck eating steam broccoli at caterer meals. However, the Red Door went above and beyond to make sure she was able to have a meal that she would enjoy. That was night one. Night two, we had the Red Door caterer our wedding at the Depot. They creates the best taco bar with several different options for meats, cheeses, salsas, etc. It was absolutely perfect and what we wanted. Aaron was very accommodating and great to work with! Excellent service for 120 people plus. We had our daughter's wedding Receptiin in the auxiliary bar (KLOVER). I want to compliment Aaron and our Chef Chris and the waitress staff for the great time. We've been meeting there all season for football. They've let us use the back room for most of the games. I made it to probably about half. It's pub food. I liked everything I tried, but nothing exceptional. Some good microbrews on tap. Expected more locals, but the ones they had were good. Generally seemed understaffed but I was in no hurry as we were there for several hours. All in all, I'd say it was fine, but I probably won't have a reason to go back in the near future. More...

Sought this place out based on reviews. As we go to Billings often,  we have plenty of favorite places we like to go but we decided to try something new.  We weren't disappointed!We got served almost immediately and our waitress was very professional.  My only complaint or dislike is that it was VERY dark in there and thus hard to read the menu. Our food was surprisingly very fresh and huge portions. I wasn't  expecting the quality of food we got as this seems more of a bar hangout  and what a wonderful surprise. My husband remarked that the chicken Caesar salad he had was one of the best he's ever ordered. I had the Red Door Dip, and was only able to eat  half. ..only cuz it was so big but very very tasty. I had the side salad and that was terrific as well.We definitely will be repeat customers although we will probably come back at lunch rather then in the evening.  It is definitely a young crowd on the weekends! Hubby and I stopped here for dinner one night at the end of our vacation, cheese tries and cheese sticks are the best I've ever had. I ordered the bbq chicken sandwich. Absolutely amazing. Elderly father in law who doesn't eat a lot ordered a huge taco salad.....GONE. so glad we are moving to Montana next week. This place just became my favorite!!! More...

Just moving here to Billings, I have been looking for something that had some flair, some outdoor seating with fireplaces and a quaint but comfortable dance floor with Karaoke. I was disappointed the other night as I was trying to find a place to celebrate New Year's Eve. We went to the Holiday Inn convention center and that bluegrass type of thing wasn't my style, then we went downtown and couldn't even walk into any of the bars downtown since their was so many people. As I was standing in line, the guy says to these girls," Hey, let's go to the Red Door." I immediately interrupted and said "I have a Red door, " and he said "I do too."  I told him Red Door's were good luck and then I looked at my Boyfriend and said, " Let's Go!" I'm the car, we had 14 minutes to drive across town and get inside for the countdown. I walked in, grabbed a champagne toast and finally got to dance and sing. The Cocktail staff, all of them were Amazing and very Hospitable. The Bartender's were working hard and ready to serve! All of the staff at this place was just what I was wanting to be around! I even met the Owner and he was very personable and very friendly. This place was my cup of tea. I will be back, My Boyfriend will Definitely be back and I loved the whole Ambiance of the place. My recent visit to the Red Door with a good friend of mine was a very nice experience.This is more tavern than restaurant but the food, while basic tavern food, is delicious. We enjoyed iced cold tap beer while sitting out on their patio.  Our server was "Johnnie-on-the-spot" and very polite and friendly.  Sort of a surprise to me as I was expecting a surly curmudgeon.We dined on two appetizer plates which was enough to fill us both up.  The cheese sticks were as good as most.  Soft, chewy.  The breaded steak bites are my favorite.  A little tough, but very tasty dipped in their homemade ranch dressing.  The only thing I didn't care for were the chicken wings.  I liked that they weren't breaded, but the sauce was a little overwhelming and the wings they used were frozen (black bones, dead giveaway).I did not venture inside and did not use the bathrooms.  I used to hate this place back when they allowed smoking inside.  You simply couldn't breathe.The patio is nice this time of year but is located on the south side of the building so it will be sweltering come summer. This place is great. Not only do they serve the best beer in Montana in a can (the brewer doesn't keg it outside their Missoula brewery), Kettlehouse Brewering Cold Smoke Scotch Ale but they have solid bar food as well. I slip down here every now and then for a business lunch or to get some work done over a beer with their free wi-fi and close location to my house.
