Michael is absolutely the most rudest person I've ever met in my entire life. He will belittle you and try to make you feel less intelligent than he is. Believe all the comments here about this companies lack of professionalism. Beyond that they barely did any of the things I paid them to do. Instead I was accused of not providing certain information when nobody in the company even asked for it. Very hostile client almost became physical security had to stop him. We cannot help hostile clients. He did not even know what financial statements were and just wanted to control the engagement. Doesn’t listen. He is still looking bark sent him back to us for help most likely no one has the patience. By the way the correct grammar is if I were (imperfect subjunctive) remedial, not was remedial. Also please use most or rudest, but not both.

I operate a very small s-corp that has exactly one client. I was sold by this gentleman as this business being a turnkey solution to tax preparation and bookkeeping.
I had to do more work on keeping track of what they were and ultimately were not doing than I did the entire year prior as a sole proprietor, and I have to say it was certainly a learning experience. Being fair, I would indicate that I was just getting this business off the ground, and absolutely did not know what I was doing. I definitely needed some guidance, and that is where this CPA failed me. This has cost me time, stress, and money that I will never recover.
There are a total of 4 government agencies my business reports to that needed filings on different levels. FICA was filed timely, but not paid on my behalf, and because I failed to notice that initially cost me in interest and penalties. One state agencies reporting and payment had not been handled at one point for several months. The CPA here would argue that the contract stipulates that I am responsible for making those payments which is true. However, that is firstly not a turnkey solution which is what I was sold when I started doing business here, and secondly I was not informed that these payments were either coming due or were past due by the CPA. Being a new business owner some guidance would have been incredibly helpful. Yet any time I reached out, I would typically either get a phone call that resulted in many questions remaining unanswered, or in some cases get snarky comments back.
Secondarily, there were issues with tax handling of the prior year and additional documentation was needed. To the credit of this business, a necessary federal extension was filed timely. I was having difficulty understanding exactly what was needed at the time by having conversations with this CPA, and an equally difficult time getting the documentation that was needed from my client. So I put this CPA in touch with the with my clients CPA hoping they could clear things up. I was not party to the conversation that occurred as a result, but from what I understand it became very unprofessional. He would argue that it was not, and should not have been his job to get that documentation, and he would be correct. However, that does not take away from the fact that he put my livelihood in jeopardy by making my client very upset.
What did I learn? If you operate a small business, and are looking for an accountant to help you set things up or handle the books. Get a recommendation from a friend. Spend the time to find someone who will go through everything that will need to be done over the next year so you have a clear understanding of both what is required of you as the business owner, and what the accountant will do for you. Personally, I would not recommend this business for someone who is small or new to being self employed.

All true. This person has never been a client so it is more of an opinion than a review of services. We service businesses not employees. Sorry you asked for accounting instead of personal tax preparation and our staff did a poor job of screening you. The info provided was free and we don’t have a lot of time near a tax deadline. Next time please don’t wait until March to “interview” a tax preparer. Good luck in your search for an accountant that better fits your needs.

Unfortunately, none of what this person wrote was correct. First, we answer every request. Second, client does not understand the accounting process. 1) client pays for books for current month, before month-end books are prepared the following month. That’s why the agreement he signed even says “First Months Fee-Payable in Advance”. 2) original second payment was declined (October 18, 2021). We just received payment Friday. Service was never interrupted for client. October books aren’t prepared until Nov when month is over. 3) first month paid was Sept. books. They aren’t ready to prepare until Oct. October isn’t over yet. 4) second payment is for October books, which October has not ended yet. Will be ready in November 5) you don’t just pay for bookkeeping but unlimited advisory services as well for a fixed rate (which was provided and available to you). Every client has a cell phone and office phone they can call or text. I’m sorry you couldn’t have it the way you want it, but I cannot control time. You pay before month ends and books are ready because we included free advisory services. After this review we will be changing our policy and advisory services will be an additional charge, since it doesn’t appear you value it.

Client prepared original return himself, incorrectly, and wanted an amendment. However, he was missing income docs and the original return he prepared, after telling us that had everything we needed. When we asked for a power of attorney to collect missing docs he became upset. We are sorry he is unhappy. We tried to help, but our hands were tied. We explained he would owe almost nothing when were finished, but he insisted on speed over accuracy. The stress was unnecessary.

Business by Experts lives up to it's name. My information was very disorganized and they straightened out my accounting and taxes very quickly and the fees were lower than I thought for the attention.
That's what I call value.
I almost went with the cheapest provider and I'm glad I didn't. This is the first time I had a CPA always take my calls (or at least return them quickly) and actually explain what was going on.
I will never go back to a bookkeeper or tax preparer again. If you have to pay to have the work done, choose Business by Experts. You will only have to pay to have the work done correctly one time.
