Mr. Smith is enthusiastic, but a self-confessed novice as regards plants. We hired him to look after our tiny garden and I was looking forward to building a good working relationship.
Sadly, his prices have shot up and he's also found it necessary to charge £1.50 a mile for fuel beyond NG18.
Given that on his last visit to us he successfully planted a few ground cover plants, did some weeding, but removed my one surviving forgetmenot, left a huge nettle and some ground elder, we had no choice but to let him go. Such a pity, because he is pleasant, well-mannered - just doesn't know his plants very well.
