The Flower Boys

The Flower Boys have been such a great addition to City Market. Their flowers are incredibly affordable. I'd only bought flowers a few times ever before they moved in, but have now bought 5-10 bouquets from them. They have unique varieties and some non-floral plants. They also have cards, vases, and host flower arranging classes. Their staff are always super friendly and went above and beyond for me today. I was buying a bouquet for my older mother, who is a widow, for my parents wedding anniversary,  and the staff thought it was sweet occasion and threw in an extra bouquet as a treat. Cute flower shop just inside The City Market. They have mixed bouquets and other seasonal flowers. They also sell eucalyptus and small blank inside cards. I stopped by on my lunch hour and purchased two mixed bouquets for $10. The flowers were so pretty and lasted about 2 weeks. More...

I went with a friend to a floral arrangment class they hosted at the City Market last night and loved every minute of it! All of us were beginners and Jeanette answered every question with a smile . I went due to my interest in attempting to arrange flowers for my own wedding next summer and now it may become a hobby. I recently got married and getting flowers from Flower Boys was a great decision. The flowers were beautiful and the cost was very reasonable. This is THE place for flowers, greenery, seasonal items, and classes. Everything is fresh and so reasonably priced that I am always tempted. Cutest flower shop around town!  I first learned about The Flower Boys last summer while scrolling through events around town and coming across a flower arranging class.  Now I'm not the most artistic/creative person but I thought what the heck I'll give this a try. I showed up to their shop (they're located within City Market by the way) not having a clue as to what I was doing.  The owners welcomed everyone and thanked us for being there which I thought was very nice touch.  We were given all the tools and flowers needed to make our arrangement.  It couldn't have been easier!!  The class was led by Jeannette who was just the sweetest & encouraged everyone to play around with the placement of the flowers and greenery to make it our own.  She also came around to check how each of us was doing and if we had any questions.  At the end I left with a beautiful arrangement to take home and with a new appreciation for flower arranging.  Overall one of my favorite DIY classes I've taken.In addition to their classes, they run a day to day flower shop of course.  The flowers always look fresh and are very reasonably priced considering how much work goes into running an individual shop.  If you're looking for something to brighten up your home or work space I would highly recommend stopping in! The flower shop is amazing. I have been to every one of their DIY classes and always look forward to the next month. I have also bought flowers just from the stand. You are always greeted with smiling faces and the flowers last 1-2 weeks! They truly care about each and every customer. The prices are amazing as well..who had a dozen roses for less than $20 at Valentine's Day?! They did! I was shocked! I highly going to them for all your flower needs. My experience was fantastic! I sent Jeanette pictures of what we were hoping for and she sent me back a few quotes to consider. From that we were able make an informed decision, work within our budget and pick the options that would work best for us!We picked up the flowers the day before the wedding and they were gorgeous!! Easily my go-to flower shop in Indianapolis.They do a great job of sourcing in-season flowers to keep their prices impressively low. They can get specific flowers if you ask for them, but out of season flowers will be closer to market rate. I bought a couple bunches of peonies and eucalyptus for something around $10 dollars. I've had a handful of fun floral experiences with the Flower Boys (and girls) and I have to say they bring a fun and enthusiastic energy to the Market. My visit tonight included the purchase of evergreens with holly berries and two white/green roses (the roses  were complimentary via the City Market fundraiser). When I was 15 years old I started working for a flower shop in my hometown and continued this job for five years. I have to say I'm a bit critical when I see shops selling blown roses or flowers past their prime and I admire the Flower Boys crew for always pricing their items fairly (fresh/tight roses at full price and peonies on their way out at a discounted rate). Their lower level location in the heart of City Market makes this business prime real estate for quickly grabbing a gift and card. Note that they offer fun and quirky stationary by Haven Paperie. If you're trying to locate them in the market, you'll find them directly below Mile Square roastery on the east side of the market. Floral purchases can be wrapped in brown paper or arranged in a container. I'm personally a fan of the rustic brown paper -classic. The cherry on top  for the entire experience is the friendly customer experience and passion of the business owners and staff. Happy shopping! More...

At some point earlier this year I came across an Instagram account full of beautiful flowers advertising killer deals.  Low and behold, it was for a sweet new flower shop operating upstairs in the City Market.  I ventured upstairs one afternoon (because they are open past 5, hallelujah!) and was met with a super friendly flower shop running out of one of the vintage market carts.  Since then, I've been hooked on The Flower Boys + Girl - there is a girl, and she is very nice even though I can't remember her name.  Forgive me!TFB helps me fulfill me regular deliveries of fun and in-season flowers - 'cause romance ain't dead.  You can find premade bouquets or craft your own out of their many individual options which they will arrange for you.  Need a vase? They have several kinds and sizes!  What about a card?  Tiny little cute cards, regular sized cute cards, they gotcha for that too.The Flower Boys have, in recent months, migrated downstairs to a formal booth - you can find them on the east end of the market.  Don't forget to follow them on Instagram to see upcoming deals AND various arranging workshops that they've started to host. The Flower Boys is a shop that you might not know about unless you've done your research or are just walking along the upstairs area of City Market. It's a nice, quaint, small flower show with cute greeting cards and a sign of pricing. It's simple and to the point, something that I appreciate. When I stopped by during the farmers' market to check out their pricing and options, they had a great variety of flowers to choose from. Their prices were about the same (maybe slightly above) the other vendors at the market, but something that wasn't too surprising. It's great that they have a lot of variety of flowers and bouquet-stuffing options; however, I would love to see more pre-made bouquets available for purchase. I'm not the best at picking which flowers go well together and so it would be great to be able to stop by, pick up a $10 bouquet of flowers, and head on my way. Just a suggestion that I would offer to the staff. Other than that, everything was great...maybe some more signage hanging on the backside of their stand so people can see their logo and branding while you're on the ground-level. My good friends Jake Rupp and Jake Smith just opened up "The Flower Boys" this week! Come find them at their flower stall on the second floor of City Market. As a guy, I know nothing about what "good flowers" are or what criteria needs to be met in order for flowers to be great. Thankfully Flower Boys has the all- knowledgeable Jeanette who greets each guest warmly and with a wide variety of recommendations to help guys like myself out! I think one of the best parts about getting flowers from here is the excellent customer service that truly leaves you feeling welcomed and encouraged. The Flower Boys has a large selection of roses, daffodils, tulips, and any other flower that you're interested in getting. The displays are excellent and the stall brings an excellent vibrance of color to the environment. You can also purchase jars and vases right from the shop as well. All the flowers are wrapped in awesome brown paper as well, which made me feel pretty cool carrying them around. Definitely come check this place out, especially if you're already stopping by City Market to grab some food! Everyone needs flowers in their lives and there's no where else Id rather get them from!
