Fleet Feet is the only running store I go to, and I moved out of Hoboken 5 years ago. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, there are generous loyalty discount programs, and their group training programs are worth every penny.

I have to say that I was absolutely floored by the service Shawn offered me when I came in. I just moved to Hoboken and I've been long overdue for shoes. Shawn was incredibly knowledgeable and figured out several important features for my shoes just by watching me walk barefoot. He understood the differences between brands and was able to bring out pairs of shoes what would fit my needs.It look about 10 pairs to find a match, but during this process Shawn even taught me a special technique for tying my shows to help with my heals not being secure. He was incredibly patient and super receptive to all my feedback. In addition to this Shawn told me to wear my new shoes for several days and carry out my normal activities and if they didn't work just come back and we could look at adjusting either inserts or swapping the shoes themselves.This was the absolute best shoe purchasing experience I've ever had and I would highly recommend anyone who needs a new pair of shoes to go here. They not only donate generously, they also support the Hobooken 5k which is one of the shelter's biggest fundraisers. if you’re new to running/ have run forever THIS is the place to go to for your running shoes. Nick is AWESOME, basically gave me a tutorial on running shoes 101 haha. I had always bought sneakers from your typical large chain stores, and never even probably spoke to any of the people working there. The shopping experience itself is a reason to shop at Fleet Feet. They have a wide array of shoe selections and are truly so kind and engaging with their customers. So honestly I haven’t worked out in years! So you can imagine the shape I’m in, but she’s been working with me at my level and also pushing me to do so much more!
!I’ve worked out with her about 3 times now and I don’t regret a second of it!
Joelle is super cool and sweet but don’t let that fool you; she’s a workout machine!

I never usually write reviews, but I feel like this place deserved one. Was in dire need of a new pair of sneakers, and the owner, Shawn, couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating. He properly measured my feet and observed my walking patterns in order to bring me shoes he knew would be a good fit for my feet and lifestyle. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
By listening to their history and their goals, by putting pieces together I pull from my experience to see what they've been missing all along and find what kind of workout will finally get them to where they want to be.
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
Consistency!! Anyone can go out for a run or pick up a weight, the hard part is enjoying it long enough, finding the motivation to get to the end goal, and of course working out efficiently.
What do you love most about your job?
I love fitness and nutrition, making the body happier and healthier is such a huge passion of mine. If I can help people see why health is so important then they'll have the motivation to never stop improving. I love to see that spark in people's eyes.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having a boss is never ideal but more importantly I can get to people in such a more effective way by having my own business. I'll go out and find those that want help but don't know where to look, I wouldn't be helping them as much if I was stuck under someone else.
Why should our clients choose you?
I don't have everyone work out in the same way, every body is different, every mind is different and everyone enjoys a different style of working out. I can train someone in purely a cardiovascular way, or entirely strength and not every trainer is willing to do that.
