Cambridge Winery and their staff went way beyond the call of duty for sure. We cannot begin tell you the number of compliments I received regarding how beautiful the events center was and the FOOD! Oh my, the food was awesome from the deviled eggs to the prime rib to the brat bites. We definitely scored big on the food. We are so glad we went the extra mile there. It was loved by all. We also received so many compliments about how pretty and perfect the ceremony was. Also, at opulent our wedding looked. Every little girl dreams of her wedding day, mine was perfect and it was my dream wedding. So glad I got my dream wedding at my dream venue
Thanks Cambridge Winery. You’re awesome.

We had our wedding here last Saturday and Cambridge Winery made it all possible. Our day turned out so beautifully and Lynn was there all day to help with set up and tear down and everything in between. We had our ceremony in the vineyards and reception at the event center. They provided the plated meals - Chicken, Salmon, and Ravioli and even had a Kids Meal option. Everything was beautiful and went so smoothly! We couldn't be more happy! More...

Nice escape just east of Madison for great wines, simple quality dining, and small town friendly staff and patrons. Had the etoufeé that rivaled most Cajun dining at half the price. Wines selection is vast. Would recommend the 2015 Pinot Noir over the Cab and with air the cherry blossoms and finish is smooth. The Founders White is a bit fruity for me but my wife loved it. Don't expect fancy or hoytee toytee just a relaxing enjoyable escape. More...

I stopped here early last Saturday with a handful of my friends for a wine tasting session. They have two options for wine tasting - The first is a set of 6 red wines that they offer. The second is a mix of dry and sweet Riesling, as well as a few reds. Our group decided to try to second option to get the full experience. Our host was very knowledgeable and friendly, offering his own personal recommendations for pairing with food or events. They also waive the cost of the wine tasting ($10) if you purchase two bottles of wine, which a lot of us took advantage of. I would absolutely recommend this venue based on their knowledge, variety, and friendliness. Check em out! More...

Great wine, really surprised to find this right off Whitney Way.  They update the tasting list every month, and as part of the one club you get a free tasting every month.  Highly recommended if you want a good glass of wine. More...

Jen was fantastic! She was great about answering all of my questions and never made me feel like I was a bother. Chef Noah was incredible - his antipasti spread was phenomenal and had all of our friends talking about how great the food all was! ! The property itself was beautiful and the staff was so helpful with getting the final details set up... I could've have dreamed of a better venue for our day!! More...

Nice little wine tasting room.  When we walked in, there were about 4-5 other people there, but we didn't see anyone working behind the bar area.  The group of people said he was in back making their appetizers.  He probably didn't come out for 5 minutes or more, so we were just waiting there with nothing to do.  He was nice and knowledgeable once he came out and helped us out.  I'm not a wine drinker, but I went with a group of people that wanted to stop by.  I ended up ordering one of their samplers that had 3 lighter wines and 3 darker wines.  Overall, all were good and had nice character.  Lots of oak and complex aromas in the reds.  I'd go back again if someone from my group wanted to. Wow. This place was an unexpected surprise! I googled "madison wine tastings" and couldn't find any taking place last night. Somehow I found myself on the yelp page for the Cambridge winery tasting room. I had seen the sign for this place on the non-descript building and had always been curious about it. I mean, it's a building that houses insurance and looks like a dentist would be at home in it. It just doesn't seem like the place to go for wine tasting. But don't let the building fool you. Once you walk in, your eyes are greeted by a clean, cozy, and sleek environment. The bartender quickly greeted us when we sat at the bar and asked if we had been there before. We told him we hadn't and he explained about the tastings or wines to order by the glass or bottle. We decided to do the tasting. I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the quality of these wines! I normally don't spend much on wine (I'm a $10 and under a bottle kind of girl unless it's a special occasion). However, these wines will be worth splurging on. The bartender noticed how much we enjoyed the tasting and told us about their wine club. What a great club to join as an awesome excuse for why I "have to" buy wine every month! There are two tiers to the club and we chose the highest tier. I agree to buy 2 bottles minimum a month (or 12 over 6 months) and in return we get one full tasting a month or glass of wine a month for myself and a guest, I get 20% off all bottles of wine, happy hour pricing all the time ($1 off glasses), invitations to special events, and merchandise discounts. The bottles range from $18-49 with the average price point around $30. I'm excited to try some new wines and to have found such a relaxing, classy place to sip a drink. This place is the real deal!I also want to mention that the bartender was amazingly informative while managing to never sound pompous or condescending as he told us about the different varietals.  Just very interesting and made us want to learn more.I highly recommend! Fantastic hidden gem just off of Whitney Way in Madison. This is in a building that also houses an insurance office, so it appears very unassuming on the outside. Once you step inside, it is a really great use of the space. Beautiful bar, great seating options, and very very solid wine. I was really pleasantly suprised with how good their lineup is from top to bottom. They do incredible Syrah, Pinot, and Cabernet. They also have a really good Rose to show their versatility. This location offers small pizzas and appetizers all designed by the chef at their main location in Cambridge, and he has some serious chops. The pizzas are incredible and unique, and always come with great pairing recommendation. Highly recommend a visit for a tasting or glass of wine after a long day at work. More...

Wow!  Just tried the food yesterday.  New executive chef, who came out and said hello to our group (very nice).  We had this pea hummus (I think-not sure what it was called) which was really flavorful and unique.  You should also try to sliders which had fantastic flavors.  Also had their home-made flavored popcorn with rosemary and a cheesy flavor.  Flavored nuts were savory and sweet.  Fantastic!  Oh, and the wine is fab! Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and decided to do their wine flight. The have s very spacious indoor banquet and tasting area, but we decided to sit outside since it was such a nice day. The traffic can be a bit loud outside, but they have very comfortable table and chairs and the service was great. The sever was great and was very knowledgeable on their wines. She took the time to explain each one and answer any questions we had.  The wine was great it is priced some what on the higher side but I guess you get what you pay for. We bought 2 bottles and got one of our wine flights for free.  Would definitely go back again with friends for some good wine and conversation More...

This is one of these, "this can't be happening" situations. It can't be happening that the wines they are serving up have so much sharp, vivid, defined character - - and here we are in a generic dentist-office-like building just south of the Beltline. It can't be happening that wines like the two rose' s have flavors like nothing I've ever tasted, anywhere - - the rose' of pinot noir with deft, tart, splendid rhubarb and redcurrant flavors - - totally original and rare;   and the rose' of syrah at the end of the evening with such a concentrated dry devilish complex fruit punch that it lords over the lush but still very sharp and focused syrah, cab, and pinot noir from eariier - - this can't be happening. These are not just 'good wines',  these are potent, refined, highly flavor-honed.  I tend to buy 90-point wines as wine shops go,  and I've tasted Napa and Oregon wineries up and down - - but the range and quality here, a block or two south of the Beltine on Whitney Way - - well they are way, WAY beyond any kind of expectation. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I hadn't heard much about it, and the location was a bit weird. But the bartenders were extremely friendly and helpful, and I really enjoyed the wines. I went with some friends on a Saturday evening, and we all did a tasting--6 different 1 ounce pours for $10. They also sell their wines by the glass and by the bottle, although if you want to order a bottle and drink it there, they do charge an additional fee. Apparently, they do have happy hour on the weeknights that they're open, which I'll have to check out at some point. The wines Cambridge offers are made from grapes in California since the grapes they have planted in Wisconsin are not yet mature enough for harvesting, and the style of the wine was definitely more reminiscent of California than the Midwest. In touring other Wisconsin wineries, I've had the experience that "semi-dry" wines tend to be "semi-sweet" and most of the wines labeled "semi-sweet" will taste like cough syrup to me. This is especially true with whites, although I've found even some Wisconsin reds suffer from this. And while I didn't try a lot of the whites at Cambridge, the ones I did taste were very well crafted and didn't have that too-sweet, overpowering sugar sensation. The reds had a good variety of lighter to more full-bodied, and they had a variety of different complementary notes. All of the wines I tasted were very well balanced in terms of different flavors, body, and acidity. The bartenders were also very knowledgeable about their wines and wine in general. My one hold-up is that their wines were a little pricey. I typically don't spend more than $20 on a bottle of wine, and most of their bottles are in the $30 range. They also only sell their wine at this location--they don't offer it anywhere else yet. But it's definitely worth checking out, and maybe splurging on a bottle once or twice. The atmosphere is pretty cool, and it's beautifully decorated--certainly a create place to grab a glass of wine with friends after work or before dinner.I would recommend the Albarino and the Cabernet Sauvignon in particular.I debated between a 4 star or 5 star rating for a while, but my only 'con' is really the price; if the rating was more discrete, I would give it a very solid 4.8/5. Hence the 5 stars. More...

Once you've been, you can spot it from the beltline! But, yes, it is a little hard to spot otherwise (it's in the State Farm Insurance building). All this may not sound like an exciting way to start the review, BUT you HAVE to push past that and go! From walking in, you'll see vases made of wine corks. From floor to ceiling, this formerly office space, has been redone and given that elegant touch you expect to see from a winery tasting room. It's an "L" shaped room with a bar, plenty of tables and seats for groups of 6. Right now they can accommodate small groups without calling ahead - but they suggested if your group size is about a dozen or more that you call ahead. There is also a lounge area at the far end of the room with a large flat screen TV. Music flowed throughout the space, sounded like light jazz. There is also a lot of art from a local artist that helps fill the room with the Madison Art culture vibe. Now, the best part - they make all of their own wine! That's right. Plus, they have quite a large variety to try too; whether you like white, red or even a rose-colored wine (yeah, I'm not a wine connoisseur ... I don't know the technical names). I will be back and probably often (if I'm lucky) to drink more red wine! More...
