Selection of locally grown foods is great. Love the eggs, asparagus, and microgreens. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Last weekend walked into live music there, so it was even fun to shop ! Prices are too high for me to shop there regularly which stinks but understandable. Would be nice to have a temporary membership option for those of us in the area for a few months. More...

Pretty neat store with some unique goodies. I would recommend this place to any one, the prices are more then usual grocery stores but thats part of the process of going shopping at a coop, with most items are organic

Beautiful produce! Lots of local items and many delicious items that are not available elsewhere. They offer a large selection of personal care, supplements and household items. The brands they offer are top quality and affordable. We ate lunch in the deli, and enjoyed friendly service, yummy coffee/tea drinks and great food! Bismarck is blessed to have this amazing, new, locally owned store! I have been a food co-op member/owner/shopper in Minnesota for twenty plus years, this Co-op is among the nicest! Traveling through the area looking for a co-op, after looking it up on google this place was NOT listed what so ever, even with key words of, coop, raw, Whole Foods, grocery and even juice bar. . not till we went to two other “grocery” stores in the area and were about to leave till this showed up! The Bisman Food Co-op offers a great variety of whole foods, produce, and frozen foods. They also sell a wide range of personal hygiene and beauty products, e. g. essential oils, make-up, and skin + hair care. The staff are always kind and quick to ask if you need help finding anything. I've been a fan of the Co-op since it opened about 2 years ago. It' so nice to see how the store has grown and evolved in that time. I absolutely love the Co-op because of the locally sourced and organic goods throughout the store. I'm not from the area and am a member of a co-op on the east coast so I have quite a bit of experience with them. While that one is still my absolute fave Co-op on the planet (i'm loyal...sometimes to a detriment), the Bisman Co-op is definitely a close second!!Co-op Pros:- The food in the deli is REALLY good and reasonably priced! - Produce is normally super fresh and plentiful- Most of the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I've had lovely conversations about anything from benefits of certain vitamins and supplements to getting inputs on how to brew my own Komboucha at home. - Always super clean- The décor is super cute! - There was a time where the store was taking suggestions on what could be added to the shelves, which was awesome (but I think that time period has come and gone)- The bulk section is heaven. Like, legit GLORIOUS! they have almost every spice or type of flour or type of sugar or nut or lentil or tea your little hippie heart can handle. - The salad bar is pretty extensive and the soups from Tera Nomad are really fantastic. - Above all, most of the Staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating. The ones who know me always greet me and acknowledge me with a smile when I come in. It makes me feel incredibly welcomed and i just love it. I'm sure you're asking...well, if you have all of these pros...why didn't you give them 5 stars Sure, well, here's why:- The meat and seafood doesn't always look the freshest. Now this could be because I normally go earlier in the week, and the new shipment of seafood is at the end of the week, so I'm normally looking at what's left after the weekend...but yeah, not a fan. - There are times when items are out of stock for weeks at a time, which can be disappointing. - They don't accept AmEx. - I think there's one more thing...but I can't remember at the moment, so it must not be that important. But all in all. If you're looking locally sourced or organic, natural skin and hair care products, essential oils, vegan alternativesetc... this is your place! More...

I'll admit -- I'm at out-of-towner who lives in Washington, DC in a neighborhood full of Whole Foods, numerous other organic stores, and so on. To find a wonderful, community-owned store in Bismarck with most everything you'd find at a Whole Foods was a wonderful surprise. Ditch Dan's and Cash Wise and support your local co-op.  I'm over supporting chain grocery stores that are full of unhealthy options for a healthy lifestyle.  There's nothing better than walking into this co-op knowing that the produce contains a harvest from local farms.  Why shouldn't one know where their food comes from?  Since living here this is the only place I will purchase seafood which is typically delivered every Friday.  Their salad bar is fresh and their sandwiches on the bar actually have fresh bread vs. those wrapped in plastic from the retail grocery stores.  Lots of supplements, aromatics, edible flowers, regional dairy products, nuts and granolas, etc.  The price?  Yeah, it can be a bit pricey especially if you're not a member.  But, I counter this with the fact that I walk out with well thought out healthy choices vs. walking into a typical grocery store that's full of unhealthy choices and temptation.  I guess it helps me focus on what I'm putting in my body.The one thing I have yet to check-out is their coffee bar which I hear is outstanding.  And, if you bring your own bag be sure to ask for their punch card. I love co-ops but this place is uniquely wonderful. The coffee shop is staffed by knowledgeable baristas, who provide excellent pour-overs and offer genuine, friendly conversation. The food at the hot bar is fresh and delicious, and I would happily eat most meals there. All the things you'd want from a co-op are here, plus some Bismarck charm. More...

Without this place in Bismarck there would be no place to get yummy certified gluten free food. My daughter has Celica Disease. The wrong food is an allergic reaction and a trip to the ER.
