I am a dog trainer with over 10 years experience within the industry.
Over the past few years I have noticed that more dogs are displaying more complex behavioural issues.
As the behaviourist at New Hope Rescue I am privileged to be able to work with some of the most trickiest dogs in the industry and for the last 10 years I have been working with private clients as well as continuing to give behavioural advice and support to several dog rescues.

Donna has helped so many of our dogs and is great with them. Very hands off and it works. She helped recently with a dog agrresisve staffie in our rescue and with just an hour of time got him to a place where he could really focus and calm down around dogs. She's great and I couldn't recommend her more. More...

What do you love most about your job?
The range of dogs I work with. From dogs from abroad, the pound or even puppies. No two dog are the same so my techniques change daily to incorporate this.
I also learn so much from the dogs. I challenge anyone who says they know it all in this industry as we are learning all the time.
Over the years how we look at dogs behaviour has moved on so much and tell us so much.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Seeing the dogs which come into rescue inspired me to start up my own company in order to keep dogs in the home.
A lot of behaviours have been learned young and are completely resolvable or manageable.
Why should our clients choose you?
I’m a positive reinforcement trainer with a difference! I look into each dogs behaviour and work out an individual plan for them. As like people we all do not learn the same way. In all my sessions there is an element of play / relaxation as this helps the dogs and us learn.
I have developed a “slow it down” technique when working with dogs with a bite history or dog to dog issues.
And because I work in rescue I work with dogs on a daily basis with tricky challenging behaviours teaching them new techniques and making them safe for rehoming.
