We went to the golf club for a celebration of a deceased friends life, The setting was fantastic and the food put on by the club was excellent I would recommend this venue wholeheartedly.

Exceptionally beautiful greenery (as is most of West Yorkshire proper) and the perfect field for a great game...or several. The pub is filled with delicious foods and goods and the atmosphere always engaging in the livliest of ways. Very down to earth for being a quite well to do club. People are friendly and approachable. The grounds are excellent for walking, as there are nearby places to scour for scenic observations. Very thrilling place to spend a summers day. More...

Always a warm welcome at Halifax GC. The course is a great challenge. The Golf club does not control the weather or that would always be great as well.

Halifax Golf Club is tucked away in a quiet corner of the moors and you really get that quiet impression when you turn up there. The pro shop is freshly stocked with new apparel and gear but a little old fashioned in lay out, same goes for the clubhouse. Out on the course you are given an opening par 5 dogleg right to behind which is a nice steady opening hole and then a good par 3 on the second. After the second the course goes downhill considerably for the next couple of holes with an odd design, shared fairways and almost impossible approaches to the fourth green. After those two shambles of holes however the course does then begin to open out into a true moorland test. A couple of the holes in the back 9 require a long accurate drive if you want to make birdie. Overall, I enjoyed my 82 round HGC, I was impressed by the difference in hole style and layout but disappointed with a lack of green keeping on teeboxes and greens. To mention, the greens were rock solid and fast but not in very good condition. If this course was tidied up around the tees and greens and fairways given a more dramatic cut to juxtapose against the Heather in the rough it could Be one of Yorkshire’s finest. More...

Played this course on 14/08 for £10 through tee off times and have to say this is the best £10 i've ever spent. Challenging course where you get every type of lie possible, beautiful landscape and very well looked after course. Greens were in good condition but not very fast. I would recommend playing this course for again as you have awareness of where to position the ball the second time round. Without doubt a hidden gem and a better course than the majority of championship courses i've played. D Caress. 10 Handicap. Woodhall Hills Golf Club. More...

A really interesting course, which is quite challenging and certainly a good stretch of the legs, playing from the valley bottom to the hilly tops. Some great views to be had. The first few holes were tricky to navigate but gets really good by hole 8 or so through to the end. Now I've played it once I hope to have a better judgement of where I'm going, the landing spots and yardages so very much looking forward to playing again. Members seemed very friendly too despite some reviews to the contrary. Well worth a visit. More...

Played the course back in August and contrary to some reviews myself and 2 friends found the course to be very interesting and a good test of golf with some demanding holes especially if the wind gets up, I think a GPS would help to navigate the course. The views were terrific especially as the sun shone. We also enjoyed the hospitality at the 19th and the food and drink. I will certainly play there again the next time I visit Yorkshire. More...
