My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2020 and needed a carer straight away to help with her meds and a bit of help around the house.
The challenge was she was blissfully unaware of her condition and very resistant to having anyone help her...until Semera came into our lives.

More than offering just practical support, she offered wonderful companionship to my mum, bringing fun and laughter into her life...over the 2 years Semera supported my mum they developed a relationship more akin to mother/daughter, than a carer/caree. What do you love most about your job?
Seeing people at their most vulnerable and providing hope, reassurance, a simple shoulder to cry on, is an amazing feeling.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I ended up seeing a niche in the care industry and I decided to take advantage of it.

Hi, my name is Semera. I have been a carer for 12 years and I am very experienced looking after people with dementia. I am attentive and respond to situations in a timely manner. I became a carer because I enjoy helping people who most need it and I find it to be very rewarding. The best part of being a caregiver for me is the feeling that I am doing something positive with my time. I have assisted people with general home help, meal preparation, personal care, and companionship.
I live in Oxford with my 2 children. I am interested in baking/cooking, reading, I enjoy driving and like to explore different parts of the countryside with my family. I am very caring, hardworking and an honest person.
