Kleiner Flughafen, der wenn es richtig voll ist sehr chaotisch wirkt. Mit den sehr freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Mitarbeitern klappt aber alles reibungslos und sehr flott ist man dann durch die Abfertigung.

Horrendous baggage reclaim. Flew in at 0220 hrs o 24th May to be met with only two carousels working and about 4 flights waiting on baggage. In addition carousel number 7 where our bags were getting sent too kept breaking down. People who were elderly and also families with young children waiting for ages. It is embarrassing that this is the airport serving our capital city. Queues for security are typically longer than the call waiting time for HMRC and poorly managed, the retail and food and drink options are pretty limited, albeit have improved (it was a low bar) and the arrivals hall is shambolic at best. Baggage always takes an inordinate amount of time and that is after you have had to negotiate the 2 or 3 customs officials trying to process hundreds of people, usually without the assistance of the electronic gates, which as far as I can see are there more as a lights display than a serious effort to process people through passport control. Given this is the first experience a lot of visitors have of scotland it’s pretty woeful. I’m giving it one star for the fact they have remembered airports need planes. More...

Had no problems except when leaving after dropping my son and granddaughter off all of 1 minute and it cost me £5 or £6 pounds, thought that was terrible luckily I had just enough loose change in car. Well….Edinburgh (inclusive of the Airport) has been good to me. The Airport staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Is it the various Cafe Nero’s or the centrally located Burger King locations round the airport. As you always know, there are always good and bad. Missed my flight because security was delaying my entrance.eg Ryanair but ended up buying a EasyJet flight almost 6hours later. Got back to Stansted Airport safely. Very pleasant airport with a large duty free and decent shops. Highly recommend the combined NCP car park and fast track option. Car park signage is dire. For the NCP follow signs to the terminal, look out for the authorised taxi Lane and keep right, the 3rd of 3 lanes. Very good but £2 for a small bottle of water seems excessive though. A disappointing return to Scotland greeted by an unpleasantly smelly toilet in the baggage claim area. A poor showing indeed. Also, the amount of space that is now taken up with checking lines makes it almost impossible for anyone to navigate the bag drop areas. I fly frequently for work all throughout Europe and I rank Edinburgh airport as one of the worst. The airline companies do their best to reduce delays but it seems this airport mismanagement consistently causes unnecessary delays. Even pilots make jokes about this airport’s management - recently we flew in to find another plane parked in our gate… once you do finally disembark and are greeted by the dreaded bus, it’s then a 45 minute wait through their broken passport e-gates and somehow it’s still a further wait for luggage. I have a very poor opinion of this airport since travelling though it regularly with a baby. No adjustments whatsoever for families travelling with small children, something that most other airports abroad I have been to have found easy to manage. The only thing that helps is that there is a fast track security lane. Lots of waiting at every step and no space to keep children entertained (or fed). The worst part is passport control on the way into Edinburgh - there is a long queue for everyone (last time this took over an hour) and then another one for people who can't use the automated check (which is all families with small children). Buggies cannot be collected when descending from the plane, you have to hold the children in your arms all the time you're queuing for passport control and luggage. Staff have been very unhelpful in accommodating any requests. I am terribly unimpressed - advise to avoid this airport especially if travelling with children, but in general if you don't enjoy kids screaming around you all the time (and who can blame them) More...

Absolute shambles of an airport start to finish. Choke point corridors, dirty, eight inch step off the plane onto the walkway (which is fully articulated, no reason for that to happen other then lack of care) and one hour forty minute wait to pick up a car. An utter embarrassment.
