Q&As

A healthy diet affects all facets of human development, growth and daily functioning. The ripple effects of a good diet cannot be downplayed. Our diet is the key determinant of our immunity and how our bodies protect us against many chronic diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes. The available literature is emphatic on the evidence strongly linking many forms of cancers to diet. Eating a variety of foods and consuming less salt, sugars and saturated and industrially-produced trans-fats, is essential for healthy diet. However, mental health is now increasingly attributed to a successful diet and this is true in light of many eating disorders. This is not a one-size fits all issue and great care must be taken to ensure our approach to treating patients is tailored to their unique, genetic, epigenetic, environmental, mental and social circumstances. This is the key to our practice at Nexus CAP where we always focus on a holistic approach to therapy. We take the whole of the person into account in approaching any challenge.
